Company Description

ZOO Digital is an AIM-quoted software and services company that provides digital production and distribution localisation services to the film and TV industry. Localisation primarily comprises subtitling, captioning and dubbing services, but ZOO Digital provides all the services needed to localise media content for global audiences in all languages and formats. ZOO Digital's strategy is to use its innovative patented Cloud-based software to provide differentiated services that are far superior to its competitors. The group has developed a global collaborative network of translators, which is supported by ZOO Digital's easy-to-use software and team of project managers. The group has eight offices globally, with a network of over 11,000 freelancers who can translate into more than 80 languages.

Investment Summary

In recent years, ZOO Digital has been winning significant market share, with its proprietary cloud-based technology driving quicker time to market, at a higher standard than competitors and at an attractive price point. Streaming content is currently dominating growth in video viewing, and this is expected to continue as more companies launch streaming services. In addition, consumer behaviour indicates that COVID-19-related lockdowns have accelerated the shift from broadcast to streaming video consumption, thus increasing demand for content. These trends seem likely to increase demand for end-to-end video content localisation services, while the greater acceptance of cloud-based service providers prompted by the growing trend for remote working looks set to increase the opportunity for ZOO Digital to exploit this large, fast-growing market.
